The Algaia manifest was created to try and help people see the bigger picture
of the faction. It shapes our path, guides our people, and hopefully leads us
all in the same direction with the same goals & ideas.
- Spiritual. The peoples of the Algaia are a very spiritual people,
whether it is through the worship of the Goddess or the Hunter or through
the placating of spirits. Nature, the balance and the cycle if life is the
crux of most religions.
- You wanna play a half orc half elf necrophiliac? Well the Jhereg and the
Vipers are camped just over there. Racially we want the faction to be about
45% Human 45% Elf with the final 10% being other racial breeds. The less
Goblins, Orcs, Trolls and Ogres the better. We are all about the nature and
these things just don't fit in.
- Get off the fence. We are going to take a stand against anything outside
of the cycle of life, daemons undead and the like are anathema to us and
must be destroyed.
- The ends do not justify the means. To defeat evil we will not work with
evil, we will not aid one undead to destroy another.
- Balls of steel. If we say we are going to do it, we do it. Only 6 of us
left alive and the breach is still holding? Then take a deep breath and get
back in there.
- If you've got a problem then tell us. Any problems at all in the faction
then come and speak to myself or anyone else in the command structure. Be
open and honest and things will easily smooth themselves out.
- Nature isn't just green; it's also red and has claws, never ever forget
that. Let some people think of us as the Al Gay (though less and less do
now) let them think we are tree huggers, their stupidity is our gain.
- The Kids. Yes we are a family faction but most of the ankle biters we
have are really good role-players, treat them the same as you would anyone
else, judge them on their own merits and actions. Don't mollycoddle them,
they hit you, react like someone has just lamped you with a huge lump of
steel.
- Morals. I (FNG) want to play around with some moral concepts within the
game setting. The first of which will be an event next year when swords will
be banned amongst our people. This may cause a lot of complaining orc but
loads of people have none sword weapons and we will bring spares for people
to use. When I announce it IC I will give the reasons behind it then.
- Eastenders is not another faction. Whilst in the IC area please try and
keep OOC chats down to a minimum. I want us to become a faction that people
come to, to role-play with. The IC area is for being IC in the OOC area is
for being OOC in.
- Heroic combat. That carbon fibre rod and foam you're holding in your
hand is representative of a heavy instrument of death and destruction. See
attached guide to heroic combat for does and don'ts of the form. See Heroic
Combat guide on this site.
- Improvements. If you think there are ways the faction can be made
better, stronger or faster without six million dollars then tell us. We are
open to suggestions on how to improve all the time.
- Plot. If you want plot sorting out or run, then the plot team for the
faction are FNG, Paul Sharman, Brid Kirwan and Arun Ferguson. Contact us
with your submissions and we will weep into our tea look to see if it is
viable and run it
- Camp Tidiness. This is something we are very good on as a whole as a
faction, but we think it's best to keep on top of it. The tidier the camp
looks the better it looks, so let's try and make it look the best it can.
- Kit levels. We want to start looking like the best faction as well as
just actually being it. If people are having problems with kit then give us
a shout as we can help make or provide kit for you. We are slowly building a
faction wardrobe to provide people with stuff. Don't forget it doesn't have
to be expensive to look good.
- Minimum physical representations are just that, minimum. If you want to
play a none human race then you better look the part. You want to see the
levels we are after, then have a look at Neil Blacks Troll; he's no
greenskin but is actually a fantastical creature.
