The Creation of our World

In the beginning was the Void, a place of darkness and destruction without a beginning or an end. It was filled with dark and evil creatures destined to live out forever their terrible ways. There was no past, no future but only despair. The Void had lived its life filled with destruction.

Yet the time had come for the Goddess to turn her hand to the Void. As she gazed upon it something reflected off the light of her eyes. Sticking out of the Void, just barely visible, was a tiny strand. The Goddess stretched out her hand and gently tugged at the strand.

Gently she took the strand and using her finger spun the tiny strand into a beautiful silken thread. Carefully she wound the thread around her hands until there was enough to turn it into a ball. Then she turned to the stars and asked for their help to weave a new world to break through the dark and desolate Void.

It is said the Great Convocation of Stars smiled down at the Goddess and agreed they were hers to command, for the Void was threatening to engulf them. Silently they moved into place until they had created a Star Loom.

With the ball of thread and the Star Loom, the Goddess began to weave a rich and wondrous cloth. Her fingers danced across the Star Loom. As she weaved, one of the sharp stars nicked her finger and red blood dripped into the thread. So on she weaved and the essence of corporeal life had been woven into the cloth.

But Blood is not enough for life. Stars are very sharp and a small cut can be very painful. The Goddess feels pain and so her tears flowed and the water dripped on the thread. So on she weaved and the essence of the elements had been woven into the cloth.

But Blood and Bone is not enough for life. She pressed her hands onto the tapestry and gave of her life force. Slowly the spirit flowed along the tapestry making life in all the light places.

With hope the Goddess gifted life, but she saw only blind obedience. Carefully she wove freedom into the weave and gifted all creatures with the freedom to choose their own path.

Through Blood and Bone and Soul, the creatures began to wake. Only now the Goddess wrapped the tapestry into a tiny ball and hurl hope into the Void. With hope and her love it met the Void and exploded into fragments. But there now lay in the Void a world, our world.
