Faces of the Goddess

Before the time of the races, there were other forces that wanted to walk the world, these were beings with no form. Once the Goddess created the races, these being began to take form. As the beliefs of the people grew, these creatures became whole. These are what many races call their Gods, as a result it is possible though to see elements of the Goddess in the Deities of other nations. The Goddess has many names and many faces but true followers know the Goddess cannot be named for she is boundless.

It is said the Goddess has spoken through trees and rocks, through animals, through people. Such things are rare though followers may often sit to commune with a stream or a stone. For some followers this may help them to find the answers they are looking for.

While in deep mediation some have claimed to see the Goddess come to them in a vision. While this is of course possible it is rare for the Goddess to come as herself and far more common for her to show herself in the guise of an element of nature, perhaps as an animal or indeed a tree. A few rare individuals have been fortunate indeed to see a true appearance of the Goddess.

The last recorded appearance was on Lyonesse in the year 1002 where a group of adventurers believed that they spoke to a woman called Lilith, who had been possessed by the Goddess. Lilith was effectively saved from death by the adventurers and the Goddess was able to communicate directly to them.

It is wise to question such appearances as the Goddess would have us think for ourselves and tread our own path to meet her.
