The Tale of Lutan

As written by Oak, and performed by the Ael at Invasion 1107

A hero in a time of need
An Evil of the foulest breed,
A shield to carve, a sword to smelt
Death upon a Demon dealt,
Allied lost and brother killed
Treachery upon the field
A story told by us, the Ael
This is the Hero, Lutan's Tale

They made the shield, to lock his spells
To guard our hero from Demon hells,
The finest wood of great old Oak
And Silvers from the richest folk,
With blessings from the fair Goddess
She gave the shield her soft caress,
No demon's magic would avail
In this, Our Hero Lutan's tale

A sword was forged, The Demon's bane
They spoke the beast's one true name,
The strongest steel was used to form
The weapon of death, to darkness spawn,
The Hunter reached and touched the blade
His fury poured as it was made,
Far off we heard the demon wail
In this, Our Hero Lutan's tale

But who could face the Demon Lord
Wear the shield, and wield the sword,
We asked the Goddess for a sign
And there he stood his soul did shine.
His heart was bold, his mind was sharp
His voice sweet music like a lark,
His body strong, his features soft
His handsome head he held aloft

There stood Lutan, full of pride
His Brother Swords there at his side,
Lutan took the hunters sword
And vowed to end the demon horde,
Lutan took the Goddess' shield
He led his people to the field,
Our champion Lutan, All did hail
In this, Our hero Lutan's tale

> Brave warriors joined our righteous fight
All were bathed in the Goddess light,
Yet near the field the snakes did lurk
The Teutons doing Demon's work,
They left the field in time of need
Their pockets lined with Golden greed,
The serpents fled, their work did fail
In this, Our Hero Lutan's tale

On he charged, and Brothers Fell
He found the Demon, Gabriel,
He took the sword and held it high
Fear was in the Demon's eye,
The demon roared, its skin aflame
Our hero reeled, his soul in pain,
Yet on he fought, he did not quail
In this, Our hero Lutan's tale

The shield held out, the shield held strong
The battle raged on, hard and long
The sword stayed firm in Lutan's hand
The demon weakened, could not stand
Our hero leapt, his aim was true
The demons heart the sword pierced through,
One Blood, One People and One land
Here ends the Tale, Of Brave Lutan.
